Parent Portal School Bell Times 9:00am Session 1 10:00am Session 2 11:00am Recess Eating 11:15am Recess Play 11:45am Session 3 12:30pm Session 4 1:15pm Eating Time 1:30pm Lunch Play 2 :00pm Session 5 3:30pm Home Time The school yard is supervised from 8:45am. Classrooms are open from this time so students can put away bags and get ready for learning. Children are expected to be organised and ready to start learning at the 9:00am bell. The school gates close at 3:45pm. Students still on grounds after this time must be booked into MOSH - after school care Absences From School If your child is going to be away or late please call the school directly on 5727 9298 before 10:00am. Please call the school instead of emailing. Emails may go unseen or missed on the day if sent to part-time staff members. If your child is absent from school, the Department of Education requires you to supply an explanation of that absence to the class teacher. Early indication of absences is appreciated as often special programs for the class or group may be planned. MOSH - Moyhu Outside School Hours Care We provide after school care Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 6:00pm. This service is open to all Primary School students residing in the area from any school. Principal's Message At Moyhu Primary School we aim to create the best learning environment and learning opportunities for your child. Sarah Patterson, Principal Get in Touch School Profile Established in 1874, Moyhu Primary School is located in a rural community in North East Victoria, 25 minutes South East of Wangaratta. The school is approximately 1.5 km from the centre of Moyhu – a small but busy town, which has a general store, hotel, café, garage and a variety of sporting facilities. Moyhu Primary School is proudly part of a group of local rural primary schools called the ‘King Valley Cluster’, the cluster work collaboratively to provide the best possible teaching and learning programs for our students. This network of schools includes Myrrhee, Edi Upper, Whitfield and Greta Valley Primary Schools.

Starting School We understand that the transition between pre-school and primary school can be a difficult one and as such, we endeavour to make this a smooth experience for our students. To prepare your child for the transition into primary school we hold 3 sessions at the school in Term 4. Our aim is to provide Pre-Schoolers with positive school experiences through our transition program to help familiarise them with the environment and school expectations. This program provides students with the opportunity to meet their teachers and peers, tour the school and experience classroom activities. Mental Health & Wellbeing KIDSHELPLINE Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) is Australia's only free, private and confidential phone counselling service specifically for young people aged between 13-25 years. HEADSPACE Headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance on promoting young peoples' wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. LIFELINE AUSTRALIA Lifeline (13 11 14) is Australia's national charity Crisis Support and Suicide Prevention service providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. REACHOUT ReachOut is Australia's leading online mental health organisation for young people and their parents. ESAFETY Office of the eSafety Commissioner This is an Australian Government website that provides information about privacy, avenues for complaints and reporting of cyberbullying as well as offensive and illegal content. The site provides eSafety information, education resources via a Wellbeing Hub THINKUKNOW ThinkUKnow is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Commonwealth Bank, Microsoft and Datacom and delivered in partnership with all State and Territory police and Neighbourhood Watch Australasia. The cyber safety presentations sensitively cover a range of topics including sexting, cyber bullying, online child exploitation, online privacy, and importantly what to do when something goes wrong. Presentations are aimed at parents, carers and teachers and young people from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
